At Lux MedSpa, we use a professional saline removal technique designed to draw pigment upward through the skin during the healing process. This approach allows the pigment to gradually lighten over a series of treatments while supporting the skin’s natural recovery.
Saline tattoo removal is commonly used for cosmetic tattoos such as microblading, lip blush, and eyeliner, but it can also help fade small body tattoos or correct uneven pigment. Because the treatment relies on a natural osmotic process rather than heat, it provides a gentle alternative to traditional laser tattoo removal.
How Saline Tattoo Removal Works
A Gentle Alternative to Laser Tattoo Removal
Saline tattoo removal works by introducing a specialized saline solution into the area where pigment exists in the skin. This creates an osmotic response that encourages pigment particles to move upward toward the surface during the healing process.
As the skin repairs itself, a small protective scab forms and gradually sheds. During this process, pigment is lifted away from the skin, allowing the tattoo to become lighter over time.
Because the treatment works with the body’s natural healing cycle, sessions are spaced several weeks apart to allow the skin to fully recover before the next treatment.
After treatment, the area may appear slightly red or swollen before forming a small scab during the healing process. As the skin heals, pigment is gradually lifted and the tattoo becomes lighter.
Multiple sessions are typically required to achieve the desired level of fading or removal. The number of treatments needed depends on the depth of the pigment, the color of the ink, and how the tattoo was originally placed.
What to expect
Emergency Saline Tattoo Removal
If you’ve recently received a tattoo or permanent makeup and are unhappy with the result, emergency saline removal may be an option. This treatment is most effective within 24 to 48 hours of your original appointment.

Call or text our office as soon as possible. A provider will review your tattoo, timing, and size to determine if you are a candidate before scheduling.
What to Expect
If approved, we will schedule you quickly to begin lifting pigment. As the skin heals, pigment is gradually drawn out through the natural healing process. Results vary, and additional sessions may be needed. Removal is not guaranteed.
Pricing
Treatment pricing is based on tattoo size, small, medium, or large, and will be confirmed during your consultation.
In addition to the service, an emergency removal fee applies:
$150 weekdays
$250 weekends
This fee is required for prior to scheduling and is separate from treatment cost.
